About the Job

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Required:

Hired prior to 10/1/13:  Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited RN program.

Hired on or after 10/1/13:  Bachelors’ degree in Nursing (BSN) or obtain BSN within 5 years of hire

 

Preferred:  BSN upon hire

 

Experience:

Required: At least three years of clinical experience as a registered nurse in acute care med/surg or perioperative.

 Preferred: Concentrated experience with Bariatric patients and/or bariatric surgery

 

Other Skills/Knowledge:

Required: Basic computer skills and word processing

Preferred: For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team

 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS: 

Required:

  •  Valid State of Massachusetts Registered Nurse
  • Certification in Bariatric Nursing within 2 years in the position.

                           

    LIFE SUPPORT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Basic Life Support

     

     

    Schedule requirements:  Schedule may fluctuate depending on physician practices and Bariatric surgeon's preferences.
